Mountain View Ranch covers over 100 acres of beautiful woodland and trails and is a family favourite for adventure in nature. With so much to explore from the Fairy Forest and the Gruffalo Trail to the brand new Dragon Trail, bouncing pillows and low ropes, there really is something for everyone. There’s no hidden extras at the Ranch - one ticket gets you entry and access to everything, all day.
The Gruffalo Trail - Did you know we are home to Wales’ first official Gruffalo Trail? Based on the hugely popular storybook by Julia Donaldson, you can take a stroll through the Deep, Dark Wood and look out for your favourite characters from the story - whether its Mouse, Fox, Owl, Snake or of course, The Gruffalo!

The Ranch Coffee Shop - Refuel your energy at The Ranch coffee shop. We serve fresh, local coffee, a range of soft drinks, cakes & sweet treats, light snacks and ice cream. Please note that we do not sell hot food options but welcome all visitors to bring their own picnic to enjoy!

Is the ranch pushchair accessible?
The Ranch has pathways around the whole trail which is pushchair accessible for most parts. Just be aware that some areas are steep and hilly, therefore more challenging!
Are dogs welcome?
Of course! We just politely ask that they are kept on a short lead at all times during your visit and clean up after them. Dog waste bags are available free of charge at the entrance if needed!
Do you serve food?
We serve a selection of hot and cold drinks, cakes, ice creams and light snacks from our on site coffee shop. We encourage guests to bring a picnic and make the most of our many scenic picnic spots!
Should I book in advance?
We certainly recommend booking in advance to secure your spot, but we also welcome walk-ins! If you’re planning to visit last minute, please do check on our bookings page and Facebook in case we are fully booked.

On Caerphilly Mountain! Located on Rhiwbina Hill, we’re only a 10-20 minute drive from Cardiff City Centre, 10 minutes from Caerphilly and only a 1 hour drive from Bristol City Centre! For Sat Nav, use CF83 1NG or use this map.

Anything important to know before we visit?
Just a polite reminder that bikes, BBQs, smoking/vaping on site is strictly prohibited - thank you very much for your understanding!

As we are a 100% outdoors location, we are subject to close if the weather conditions are poor or dangerous. Closure may be required at short notice, so please check our Facebook page for any updates during adverse weather.
